Left: movement , right: Chinese foot (30.3 cm) = a person [with belly ] who puts one foot in front of the other when measuring that distance.
If you only put one foot in front of the other when moving, you are slow and it will be late.

Top: measure of length (1 chǐ = 30 cm, of a person placing a foot to a side), below: two
Two units are the greatest extent.

If you stretch out a leg to measure a length, you have a foot (= 1 Chǐ).

In Chǐ you measure when the sun is one foot above the horizon: then it is daytime.
